The Metamorphosis - Youth Club

"When Gregor Samsa woke one morning from troubled dreams, he found himself transformed in his bed into a monstrous insect"

So begins Franz Kafka's story "The Metamorphosis", in which the main character suddenly no longer fits into his old life.

What happens when he cannot show up for work? How does his family react to his transformation? And what remains of a person when they can no longer "function"?

The youth club takes on Kafka's text in its own production about alienation, belonging, and the search for identity in a society that constantly demands performance - expanded with personal texts by the club's participants, who translate Kafka's themes into the present day.
