Eight-piece band FATCAT is pure funk firepower! With a generous dose of good vibes and relentlessly driving music, the Freiburg outfit gets heads spinning. A gripping soul voice, cutting brass lines and heavy beats combine into a unique blend of funk, soul, R&B, disco and rock.\n\nThe core of FATCAT was already playing together before the band's founding in 2013, under the name Project Mayhem - but strictly instrumental back then. To grow musically, they needed a vocalist. In Kenny, the music students from the Jazz & Rock Schools in Freiburg found a natural singer and entertainer. The first two albums "New Funk" and "Get On Up" were self-produced, followed by the studio album "Champagne Rush" on Orange Goose Records. The band worked the circuit relentlessly and quickly built a solid reputation. They have played festivals including ZMF in Freiburg, Stimmen-Festival in Lörrach and Jazzopen in Stuttgart, and have opened for acts such as Jamie Cullum, Anastacia, Saga and Chaka Khan. A clear career highlight was their appearance at the renowned Montreux Jazz Festival in 2018. The third studio EP "Love Child" was released in April 2019.\n\nFATCAT delivers live.
