The story of Peter and Wendy needs little introduction: a boy who refuses to grow up persuades a girl on the cusp of adulthood to fly with him to the eerily beautiful Neverland. There, alongside the lost boys, they live through countless adventures - above all the battle against Peter's arch-enemy Captain Hook, which Peter ultimately wins. In the end, Wendy returns to the real world and her family, while Peter remains forever a child.

Yet behind this familiar tale lies more than a straightforward good-versus-evil story. Life in Neverland is far less idyllic than most adaptations suggest.

Director Laurent Gröflin approaches J.M. Barrie's material with fresh questions: Is growing up really a loss - or more of a challenge? And who is Peter Pan, exactly: a radiant hero, or something else entirely?
