Hear for yourself how his "everyday poetry" still resonates today, in an age of shifting gender roles. The popular songs and classical compositions from Kästner's era, newly arranged by Frank Fröhlich, are striking and complement the poems in which Claudia Michelsen gives voice to neglected wives, self-assured barmaids, and women more or less happily in love.
