Abandoned Places - Schultheiss Factory - The Schultheiss Malting House at Südgelände

The buildings of the former Schultheiss brewery still shape Berlin's cityscape today. This includes their malting house near Südkreuz station, situated right alongside the "Dresdener Bahn" railway line.

The site offers a window into Berlin's industrial culture from the 1920s through the 1990s. The main building, still unused today, preserves the workings of a traditional malting house almost entirely intact - original fixtures and fittings included.

The malting house grounds have been developed as an event venue and offer ample open-air space.
