The Michaelis-Kirchweih is undisputedly the most important event in Fürth's calendar. What makes it special is the combination: it is both a traditional fair and a market. People travel from across the entire region for the "Fädder Kärwa" - and little wonder, since the celebration is over 900 years old.
This guided tour traces the historical origins of the festival and shares plenty of curiosities surrounding the "queen of Franconian Kirchweih". Among the highlights: the story of how the council of the imperial city of Nuremberg once refused to let its citizens attend the Fürth fair.
