The Mousetrap

A woman has been murdered in London. Police broadcast a description of the suspect on all channels. Yet on this bitterly cold winter day, there is no shortage of people "of medium height in a dark coat, light scarf and felt hat". Mollie Ralston and her husband Giles are opening the inherited old house Monkswell Manor near London as a guest house today.
As the snow falls more heavily, worries mount: will the pipes freeze? Do they have enough food if they get snowed in? Despite the snow-covered roads, the expected guests arrive. Faced with the most diverse, completely unfamiliar characters who find themselves together here for an indefinite period, many would gladly flee as quickly as possible - but for now the snow smothers any hope of departure.
The police send a sergeant on skis, unease grows. Will more murders be committed here? Indeed, the next body does not take long to appear. But who will fall into the mousetrap: the killer or his next victim?
Performed continuously since 1952, THE MOUSETRAP is the longest-running and most successful stage play in the world. We thank Concord Theatricals GmbH on behalf of Samuel French Ltd. for the performance rights.
