The Pötschel-Knies couple has booked a pirate adventure holiday with HUI. They set off in a convoy of seventeen inflatable boats - but drifted off course within minutes, because Mr. Pötschel took a phone call, Mrs. Pötschel-Knies had a screaming fit, and both forgot to row. Shortly after, they wash up on the island of Ziegenwerder...

She asks herself: can you actually go on holiday with men? He wonders: should couples travel together at all? After all, 56% of all marriages end in divorce following a joint vacation. But between marital crisis and murderous impulses, pirate fantasies drift by too - longings for unbridled freedom and shameless buccaneering.
