This charming romantic comedy by American playwright Jerry Meyer is a production by the Cologne-based theatre company Kirsten Lange. Kirsten Annika Lange and Markus Veith play two strangers who find themselves by chance in the same compartment during a train journey from San Francisco to Bay Point - exactly one hour and twenty-three minutes. What begins innocently with a shared crossword puzzle develops into a witty and profound exchange.

As their word grids fill in, their conversation becomes increasingly relaxed, personal, and intense. They joke and tease each other, help and hinder one another, and behind the facades emerge mysterious depths: What is the secret of Petrarch's sonnets? Who uses pencils, who uses ballpoint pens? Why do people say "Bingo!"? And what do you call people who drive in circles? One hour and twenty-three minutes to solve your own riddles - and perhaps find the answer. Two across: Tender affection in five letters...
