This double concert brings together Nico Cleemann Trio and Jellyfish Jazz Orchestra - two ensembles from the northern German jazz scene, connected through Rostock pianist Nico Cleemann: he performs not only with his trio but is also a member of the big band.
Nico Cleemann Trio - featuring Nico Cleemann (piano), Andreas Böhm (bass) and Toni Müller (drums, Chemnitz) - plays original compositions in fusion jazz, blending distinctive melodies, catchy grooves and extended improvisations.
Jellyfish Jazz Orchestra was founded in 2008 by around 20 musicians from Wismar and the surrounding area. The big band performs works by Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Bob Mintzer and Pat Metheny, complemented by modern vocal pieces, compositions beyond the classical big band repertoire and original compositions.
