Nora or A Doll's House - Summer OpenAir - Theater der Immoralisten
Theater der Immoralisten, Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany
Nora lives in luxury alongside Torvald Helmer, a successful banker. Outwardly she plays the role of a naive wife - but behind the facade lies a dark secret: when Helmer suffered from burnout, she forged her father's signature to secure a loan from one of his employees. The creditor now threatens dismissal and resorts to the ultimate weapon: blackmail. Nora must prevent the dismissal - otherwise he will expose the fraud and destroy her family.
Theater der Immoralisten presents Ibsen's play about social roles and emancipation in a new version: Christmas takes place in summer, Helmer is a woman, and Nora is a man. The setting is a villa in California. Seven years ago the ensemble already staged this play; in this new production, much has been turned upside down.
The summer OpenAir takes place outdoors, with half the seats covered. In case of unsuitable weather, the theatre reserves the right to cancel the performance - tickets can then be exchanged for another date.
