Lebenlifehayat! /UA - Arad Dabiri / 15+

A child sleeps in the center of the stage. Around them, a choir prepares for a ritual: the child must be sacrificed, reason must triumph over compassion, the community must be saved through sacrifice. Then the child wakes - they speak, question, accuse: What value does a society have that believes brutal exclusion of others is necessary for its survival? Where does the urge come from to organize communal life like a garden plot?

Arad Dabiri takes this archaic situation as a starting point to question the status of humanistic principles in the world. The text journeys through myths like the Garden of Eden and shows that an earthly paradise can only succeed if it is conceived for everyone - without borders. LEBENLIFEHAYAT! is a long poem, a cry in a burning world, yet one where the spark of hope has been ignited and the search for future narratives has begun.

The piece was created as part of the EU project "Future Narratives for Planet Earth" and was selected through an open call at the Hessian State Theatre Marburg. The world premiere takes place in Marburg; in 2026 the piece will also tour in Leuven (Belgium) and Graz (Austria).

From age 15. With English subtitles!
