Claudia Michelsen - familiar to many from Polizeiruf 110, the Ku'damm series and cinema - comes to the Wedeler Musiktage at Theater Wedel. With the programme "Plädoyer einer Frau", the festival appears there for the first time; the intimate theatre space brings audience and stage unusually close together.
At the heart of the evening are Erich Kästner's female voices: texts from the interwar period that tackle gender roles and personal freedom with irony, sharpness and precise social observation - and sound strikingly relevant today.
Frank Fröhlich joins on guitar in a musical dialogue with these texts. Schlager hits, chansons, popular tunes and original compositions comment on Kästner's voices, push back against them, drive them forward. The result is not a reading with musical accompaniment but a stage event in which literature and music meet as equals.
