Claudia Michelsen

Claudia Michelsen comes to the Wedeler Musiktage - familiar to many from Polizeiruf 110, the Ku'damm series, and the cinema screen. At Theater Wedel she appears in an unusually immediate form: what normally exists on screen stands here in the room, in person.
With "Plädoyer einer Frau", the Wedeler Musiktage make their debut at Theater Wedel. The intimate theatre space creates the closeness in which Kästner's subtleties, his wit, and the precision of spoken language can fully take effect.
At the heart of the programme are Erich Kästner's female voices - texts full of irony, sharpness, humour, and sharp social observation. Written in the interwar period, they feel strikingly relevant today: a precise look at gender roles, expectations, and personal freedoms that still resonate.
Frank Fröhlich joins on guitar in a musical dialogue with these texts. Schlager hits, chansons, popular tunes, light-music classics, and original compositions comment on Kästner's female voices, push back, drive the narrative forward, and open up new sonic spaces.
The result is not a reading with musical accompaniment, but a smart, lively stage event where Claudia Michelsen's immediate presence, Kästner's literary precision, and a surprising musical world come together.
