Moonlight Concert is a distinctive musical show that brings together an unusual mix of genres and instruments. Voice, saxophone, piano, guitar, Syrian darbuka and percussion combine into a soundscape that is both sensory and deeply felt.

By candlelight and moonlit atmosphere, five dedicated instrumentalists take the audience into a world of moving instrumental and singer-songwriter music. The programme is enriched with expressive settings of lyric poetry by Rainer Maria Rilke and arrangements of classical works ranging from Domenico Scarlatti to Johann Sebastian Bach.

Moonlight Concert is a rare chance to surrender to the spell of poetic music - a journey through the world of poetry brought to life by passionate, extravagant playing. Lyrical texts, atmospheric melodies and driving rhythms merge into a wholly singular sound world.

Cologne-based singer-songwriter Michael Schweiger, known as DER SCHWEIGER, invites acclaimed artists to join this unusual musical concept. His melancholic, sensual songs offer unexpected glimpses into strangely intimate stories. He continually finds new musical impulses in unconventional sonic territory, striking a powerful balance between lightness and weight.

Alongside PETER KLINKENBERG - principal percussionist and timpanist of the Heidelberg Philharmonic Orchestra - Syrian percussion virtuoso Shadi Al Housh commands the stage with pulsating rhythms. SHADI AL HOSH unfolds an astonishing rhythmic kaleidoscope, combining the traditional darbuka drum with the smaller riq.
