Writers Thursday Special

The literary salon "Writers' Thursday", run by journalist and author Rainer Schmidt in Berlin above the Borchardt restaurant, returns for the second time to Hamburg's Harbour Front Literaturfestival. Several authors read brief, striking excerpts from their works, with special emphasis on the interplay between literature and music.

In October, participants include Judith Holofernes, Alexa Hennig von Lange, and Mille Petrozza. They read from their books and discuss together the connections between their arts.

Judith Holofernes (born 1976) became known as the singer, guitarist, and songwriter of "Wir sind Helden". Since the band's hiatus, she has worked solo and published literary texts - most recently the autobiographical books "Die Träume anderer Leute" and "Hummelhirn".

Alexa Hennig von Lange (born 1973) debuted in 1997 with the novel "Relax" and has since written novels, young adult books, and plays. Her Heimkehr trilogy combines personal family history with German contemporary history; in 2026 her novel "Alte Pfade" will be published.

Mille Petrozza (born 1967) has led Kreator for over forty years - one of the world's most renowned German thrash metal bands. In 2025, his autobiography "Your Heaven, My Hell - Wie Heavy Metal mich gerettet hat", co-written with Torsten Groß, was published.
