Can failure be a path to success? Good art, when you look closely, almost always circles around the effort to get things right - and quite often around falling short. Samuel Beckett, the world's foremost poet of failure, put it this way: "Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter." And: "Try again. Fail again. Fail better."

Last year Rocko Schamoni invited artists to speak candidly about their own failures - Charlotte Brandi and Joachim Meyerhoff were among the guests, and the Schauspielhaus sold out. Now comes the second round.

This time's guests: Christiane Rösinger - musician (including "Britta" and several solo albums), journalist focusing on pop culture, and author; her book "The Joy of Aging" was published in 2026. Thomas von Steinaecker makes films for 3SAT and Arte, produces radio plays for Deutschlandfunk and Bayerischer Rundfunk, and writes novels (his latest, "Schwestern", comes out in early September) - and as the author of "Ende offen. Das Buch der gescheiterten Kunstwerke" (2021), he is something of the evening's resident expert. Fritzi Ernst lives in Hamburg as a musician, composer and lyricist; her most recent release is the solo single "Introvert Memes".
