GRENDSLAM No. 60 - Team Special with k.u.k. - Klötgen & Koslovsky
Kulturzentrum GREND, Essen, Germany
17.5 €
The new GRENDSLAM season kicks off with team poetry at its finest: k.u.k. - Klötgen and Koslovsky.
k.u.k. is Frank Klötgen (Munich) and Wehwalt Koslovsky (Frankfurt am Main) - two slam poetry veterans joined as a duo. They rank among the most successful poetry slammers, stage writers and team partners in German-language slam history (three times third place in team competition, and in other teams a runner-up and German champion respectively). Metrically sharp, rhyme-heavy, and wryly ironic.
The duo formed in 2008. They rhyme in the style of Weimar-era classics but with the playfulness of rap and poetry slam. Together they have nearly 7,000 performances across 50 countries to their name and are still active - as stage writers and cabaret artists (Münchner Lach- & Schießgesellschaft). "Katastrophenstrophen" brings a best-of of legendary team texts, brand-new rhyming duets, and musical interludes that demand audience sing-alongs.
About GRENDSLAM:
Since 2005, the GRENDSLAM Revue has presented a programme of slam poetry, singer-songwriting and cabaret of the highest order. As one of the first strongholds of the poetry slam scene in the Ruhr region, the event quickly became a widely celebrated showcase for wordsmiths - where performers can present several pieces without competition or time limits.
Hosting the evening is Frank Klötgen - a former Ruhr local who made his name as vocalist of the band Marilyn's Army and now performs with the Münchner Lach- & Schießgesellschaft. As one of the best-known German-language poetry slammers, he travels constantly and curates each GRENDSLAM programme. His eye for talent is proven by the roster of past guests who now play far bigger stages: from Torsten Sträter to Till Reiners, Sarah Bosetti, Marc-Uwe Kling, Felix Lobrecht, Nora Gomringer and Das Lumpenpack - all have appeared here.
