Wooli is an avant-garde folk duo: Taiwanese pipa player Fan-Qi Wu and Norwegian drummer Michael Lee Sørenmo. Since their debut in Oslo in April 2024, they have performed at European festivals including the Vestafor Festival, Aarhus Jazz Festival, Babel Sound Festival and (s)Nodi Festival.

Their debut album "Wooli" was released on 13 March 2026. It brings together East Asian tradition and the improvisational freedom of free jazz - music born from spontaneous dialogue that doesn't preserve cultural heritage so much as push it forward.
