The duo of Conny Bauer (trombone) and Kalle Kalima (guitar) operates at the boundary between avant-garde jazz and contemporary art music. Bauer is regarded as a defining figure of East German jazz; Kalima brings a broad range of influences, drawing together jazz, rock and new music.

Their playing is built on instant composing - sound worlds take shape in real time, guided by a sharp sense of dynamics and dramaturgy. Their album "13 Kuukautta" (13 Months) embodies a deliberate break with conventional time structures.
