SÖHNE MANNHEIMS JAZZ DEPARTMENT
Alter Stadtsaal, Rathaushof, Speyer, Germany
44 €
The jazz trio SÖHNE MANNHEIMS - guitarist Kosho, bassist Edward Maclean, and drummer Ralf Gustke - is preparing a premiere at Speyerer Gitarrensommer. Special guest Thilo Zirr, guitarist for Söhne, will join them, marking the first joint concert of both guitarists Kosho and Thilo Zirr as part of SÖHNE MANNHEIMS JAZZ DEPARTMENT. Expect an exciting guitar battle and plenty of musical freedom with second special guest Joe Reinhuber on tenor saxophone.
SOHNE MANNHEIMS JAZZ DEPARTMENT made waves with its self-titled debut album, which immediately cracked the top 5 of the German iTunes Jazz charts. Jazzpodium magazine praised it as "sensitive and tastefully restrained," while Jazzthing called it "elegantly flowing music." The debut reimagines SÖHNE MANNHEIMS hits like "Das hat die Welt noch nicht gesehen" and "Geh davon aus" in entirely new ways - as delicate, sensitive jazz versions with refined phrasing, intriguing rhythm shifts, and Kosho's virtuosic guitar playing. A tribute to the originals and simultaneously a redefinition in contemporary jazz. SÖHNE MANNHEIMS JAZZ DEPARTMENT not only reinterprets Söhne hits but also surprises with original compositions and covers of selected jazz and pop classics.
Buckle up for a special concert with SÖHNE MANNHEIMS JAZZ DEPARTMENT at Speyerer Gitarrensommer.
