Animal Farm

On Mr. Jones's farm, the animals are plotting a revolt: stirred by the words of the old boar Major, they overthrow human rule and found a free farm where all are meant to be equal. Together they build a society in which their labour serves themselves and the harvest is shared fairly. But then a creeping process begins, ending with a small group of animals subjugating all the rest. Truths that held just moments before are called into question, and the ideals of equality and brotherhood are twisted until the distortion is accepted by nearly everyone as the legitimate order.

George Orwell's sharp allegory from the 1940s about the mechanics of power and the darker sides of human coexistence comes to life in director Anna-Elisabeth Frick's production - set in a dystopian world somewhere between animal, human, and monster, populated by increasingly deformed figures.
