Animal Farm

On Mr. Jones's farm, the animals prepare for rebellion. Stirred by the words of old boar Major, they overcome human rule and establish a free farm where all animals are to be equal. Together they create a society in which their labour serves themselves and the fruits of that labour are fairly distributed among all. But soon a process begins that leads to oppression by a small group of animals who subjugate all the others. Suddenly not only former truths are questioned, but the ideas of equality and brotherhood are perverted until this perversion becomes an accepted order for nearly all animals.

George Orwell's incisive allegory from the 1940s, which exposes the mechanisms of power and the dark sides of communal life, comes alive in the production by Anna Elisabeth Frick and her team in a dystopian world. Somewhere between animal, human and monster, the creatures of this world are increasingly deformed.
