Blues & Boogie Woogie - "Merito and Rogerio Antonio - Boogie Woogie Twins"

The Boogie Woogie Twins, Merito and Rogerio Antonio, are an energetic piano duo from Hamburg dedicated entirely to boogie woogie music.

The twin brothers began learning piano in seventh grade. The turning point came in 2021 when Rogerio discovered a video online of two musicians playing boogie woogie on a street piano in London. The music and playing style captivated him so completely that he immediately began studying it and sharing it with his brother. Within a short time, both were "infected" with the boogie woogie virus and couldn't leave the piano alone.

Over time, they discovered the great masters of the genre - pioneers like Albert Ammons, Meade Lux Lewis, and Pete Johnson, as well as the world-renowned pianist Axel Zwingenberger. Their performances are marked by energetic stage presence and genuine joy in playing. They perform both classic boogie woogie and blues pieces as well as their own compositions. In 2024, Axel Zwingenberger invited them to his "Boogie Woogie Connection" festival at Hamburg's FABRIK, and in 2025 they appeared at "Boogie Woogie News" in Vienna's Metropol.
