Fischhalle Harburg, Hamburg, Germany

Dave Goodman is an exceptional artist, often described as a musical chameleon. This stems from his incredibly diverse and multifaceted music, in which you can hear echoes of his early musical experiences - he began playing guitar at age 12, initially blues and rock, later developing a keen interest in jazz. To this are added influences from Anglo-American and Irish-Celtic music, which he inherited through his mother's heritage.
After many years in Canada and the USA and musical studies, he settled in Germany in the late 1990s. He began writing his first songs and increasingly developed as a singer-songwriter. At the same time, he started applying his phenomenal fingerstyle technique to the acoustic guitar. Goodman's impressive voice ranges from tender tones in ballads to bluesy inflections.
Eleven highly acclaimed solo CDs, DVDs, and educational publications, joint concerts with John Lee Hooker, Jeff Healey, and many others, as well as extensive concert tours and festivals across many European countries, the USA, Canada, England, and Germany testify to his remarkable activity and speak volumes.
The concerts of this international blues guitarist and songwriter are high-energy live shows, peppered with humor and wit, that take audiences on an emotional journey through sensitive ballads and partly amusing, partly moving stories. He transcends the blues framework in the narrow sense and guides his audience through a broad spectrum of emotions and experiences. This enormous range makes it impossible to categorize him into any single genre.
The fascinating combination of stunning guitar playing with phenomenal fingerstyle technique at world-class level, along with timeless original compositions and the ability to tell humorous stories, has made him a globally respected acoustic artist.
