"Told Without Words" - Piano Recital: Yukimi Okuda plays works by Henselt, Chopin and Tchaikovsky
Bürgerhaus Schwabach, Germany
17 €
Music can tell stories without a single word. Under this motto, the Kulturamt and the Internationale Henselt-Gesellschaft invite you to a piano evening with the award-winning pianist Yukimi Okuda. The focus is on the poetic and narrative power of Romantic piano music.
The programme spans rarely heard opera transcriptions and the expressive ballade by Adolph von Henselt, Chopin's celebrated Ballade No. 1, and Tchaikovsky's cycle The Seasons. In twelve characterful miniatures, the composer traces the moods and images of each month - from the warmth of a winter fireside through the joyful carnival to the melancholy beauty of autumn and the festive spirit of December.
Yukimi Okuda, born in Kyoto and now in demand internationally as both soloist and chamber musician, combines exceptional technical brilliance with a refined musical sensibility. She trained at the renowned Toho Gakuen School of Music in Japan before continuing at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. Numerous competition prizes and scholarships have marked her artistic path.
A concert for anyone drawn to the expressive range and narrative depth of Romantic piano music.
