THE SCOTTISH MUSIC PARADE - the original - direct from Edinburgh with a Best Of programme

Authentic Celtic spirit and Scottish joie de vivre are back when the "SCOTTISH MUSIC PARADE" comes to Germany. Bagpipers, drummers, musicians, singers and dancers - all flown in directly from Scotland - take the audience on an evening-long, rousing and varied musical journey. This time the show features a Best Of programme with the most celebrated titles and arrangements from the past 10 years.

Against a castle backdrop complete with towers and battlements - a replica of a Scottish castle - the performers reveal ever new facets of Scottish culture. One moment the powerful sound of bagpipes and drums fills the arena and grips the crowd in the stands; the next, heartfelt ballads full of longing and wide-open spaces bring a spellbinding hush to the hall.

The artists taking part are among the finest Scotland has to offer. Nearly all of them are regular performers at the world-famous Edinburgh Tattoo. The pipers and drummers include multiple winners of international competitions and world champions on their instruments.

Even the blend of traditional bagpipe playing with modern rock - from Paul McCartney to Coldplay - comes off brilliantly. When the electric guitarists turn it up full and the entire ensemble gradually joins in on pieces like Paul McCartney's "Mull of Kintyre", Dire Straits' "Going Home", the Eagles' "Hotel California" or Simple Minds' "Belfast Child" - goosebumps are guaranteed.

Finally, the regiment of drummers brings the house down with their "drum fireworks". The lively, high-energy Scottish dances round off the evening with infectious festive spirit.
