Joachim (Bruno Alexander) is unexpectedly accepted into a prestigious acting school in Munich and moves into his grandparents' grand villa. There he encounters a daily life full of peculiar rituals, shaped by the charming eccentricity and alcohol-soaked habits of his grandmother (Senta Berger) and grandfather (Michael Wittenborn).

At the same time, Joachim plunges into the intense and often bizarre world of theatre, where passion, rivalry and self-promotion set the tone. Caught between stage rehearsals and the quirks of family life, he finds himself spinning through self-doubt, strange encounters and the occasional flash of genuine inspiration.

Along the way, he tries not only to hold his own in the theatre world, but to figure out who he really is.
