Joachim (Bruno Alexander) is unexpectedly accepted into a prestigious acting school in Munich and moves into his grandparents' villa. There, the charming eccentricity and alcohol-soaked habits of his grandmother (Senta Berger) and grandfather (Michael Wittenborn) shape daily life - an existence built around curious rituals.

At the same time, he plunges into the intense, often bizarre world of theatre, where passion, rivalry and self-promotion set the tone. Caught between stage rehearsals and family oddities, Joachim is swept into a spiral of self-doubt, strange encounters and moments of inspiration - searching for his place in the theatre world and for himself.
