The Akademie der Künste at Pariser Platz is one of Berlin's most prominent cultural institutions, located directly on the historic square next to the Brandenburg Gate. The building, opened in 2005 and designed by Günter Behnisch, features a striking glass façade and hosts exhibitions, concerts, readings, and interdisciplinary arts events. It is one of two sites of the Akademie der Künste, which was founded in 1696.
