About the venue

The Antiquarium in the Munich Residenz is the largest Renaissance hall north of the Alps, built in the late 16th century to house the Wittelsbach collection of antique sculptures and busts. Its barrel-vaulted ceiling is covered with elaborate fresco paintings depicting Bavarian landscapes and allegorical figures. Today the hall serves as a ceremonial banquet room and hosts concerts and cultural events.
