About the venue

Burg Giebichenstein is a medieval castle complex on a rocky outcrop above the river Saale in Halle. Its origins go back to the 10th century, when it served as a residence of the Archbishops of Magdeburg. Today the ruins of the upper castle and the partially preserved lower castle host open-air concerts, theatre performances and cultural events throughout the warmer months.
