About the venue

Burg Königstein is a ruined hilltop fortress above the town of Königstein im Taunus, with origins dating to the 13th century. Expanded over the following centuries into one of the largest castle complexes in the Taunus region, it was largely destroyed by French troops in 1796. Today the well-preserved ruins host open-air concerts, theatre performances and cultural events against a dramatic backdrop of the Frankfurt skyline.
