About the venue

The Couven-Museum in Aachen occupies a well-preserved 18th-century townhouse and documents bourgeois living culture from the Baroque through the Biedermeier period. Its rooms are furnished with original furniture, faience, silverware and stoves, giving a vivid picture of prosperous domestic life in the region. The museum is named after the Aachen architect Johann Joseph Couven, whose family once lived here.
