About the venue

The Englischer Garten is one of the largest urban parks in the world, stretching across more than 370 hectares in the north of Munich's city centre. Laid out from 1789 onwards by Benjamin Thompson and landscape gardener Friedrich Ludwig von Sckell, it draws millions of visitors each year. The park hosts open-air concerts, festivals and cultural events, and is famous for the Chinesischer Turm beer garden and the artificial river wave where surfers ride year-round.
