About the venue

The Ernst Deutsch Theater is a privately run spoken-theatre house in Hamburg-Winterhude, founded in 1951 by the Austrian actor Ernst Deutsch. With around 600 seats, it stages a broad repertoire of classics, contemporary drama and comedies. The building on Mundsburg was renovated in the 1990s and remains one of Hamburg's most active independent stages.
