About the venue

Hoppegarten is one of Germany's oldest and most storied racecourses, opened in 1868 on the eastern outskirts of Berlin. The historic grandstand and the tree-lined track have been a backdrop for flat racing ever since, with the German Derby having been run here in the early 20th century. Today the venue hosts regular thoroughbred race meetings from spring to autumn, and the infield is also used for open-air concerts and large-scale events.
