The Gängeviertel is a historic quarter in central Hamburg, comprising a cluster of old tenement buildings dating back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In 2009, artists and activists occupied the site to prevent its demolition and redevelopment, turning it into a self-managed cultural centre. Today it hosts concerts, exhibitions, theatre performances, and community events across its various courtyards and rooms.
