About the venue

The Gasteig is Munich's main cultural centre, housed in a large brick building from 1985 on the banks of the Isar. It is home to the Munich Philharmonic, the city library, and several music schools. The main concert hall, the Philharmonie im Gasteig, seats around 2,400 and hosts orchestral concerts, pop events, and congresses. While the building undergoes major renovation, the programme runs at the temporary venue Gasteig HP8 in Sendling.
