About the venue
Gethsemane-Kirche is a red-brick Protestant church in Berlin's Prenzlauer Berg, built in 1893 to a design by August Orth. It became a symbol of the peaceful revolution in autumn 1989, when it served as a gathering point for opposition groups and candlelight vigils. Today it hosts church services as well as concerts and cultural events.
