About the venue

The Gewandhaus zu Leipzig is one of Europe's most celebrated concert halls, home to the Gewandhausorchester. The Mendelssohn-Saal is the smaller of its two main halls, named after Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, who served as the orchestra's conductor in the 19th century. It seats around 500 and regularly hosts chamber music, recitals, and smaller ensemble concerts.
