Hamburger Kunsthalle

Hamburg, Germany

About the venue

The Hamburger Kunsthalle is one of Germany's largest art museums, housed in a complex of three interconnected buildings spanning different eras - from the 19th-century neoclassical main hall to the modernist Galerie der Gegenwart added in 1997. Its collection ranges from medieval altarpieces to contemporary art, with particular strengths in German Romanticism, including Caspar David Friedrich. Temporary exhibitions regularly draw international attention.
