About the venue

The James-Simon-Galerie is the central visitor and entrance building of Berlin's Museumsinsel, designed by David Chipperfield Architects and opened in 2019. Named after the Jewish art patron and philanthropist James Simon, it serves as a hub connecting the island's five museums. The building hosts temporary exhibitions, lectures and cultural events alongside its role as a shared foyer for the entire ensemble.
