Japanisches Palais

Dresden, Germany

About the venue

The Japanese Palace (Japanisches Palais) is a baroque building on the left bank of the Elbe, erected in the early 18th century and expanded under Augustus the Strong. Originally intended to house his vast porcelain collection, it later served various museum purposes. Today it is home to the Museum of Ethnology and the State Museum of Prehistory, and its courtyard hosts open-air events.
