Kloster Eberbach

Eltville am Rhein, Germany

About the venue

Kloster Eberbach is a former Cistercian monastery in the Rheingau hills near Eltville, founded in 1136. Its remarkably well-preserved Romanesque and early Gothic buildings - church, chapter house, monk's refectory - regularly host concerts, wine auctions, and cultural events. The monastery gained international fame as a filming location for Jean-Jacques Annaud's 1986 adaptation of "The Name of the Rose".
