Kloster Schiffenberg is a former Augustinian monastery on a hilltop southeast of Gießen, dating back to the 12th century. The well-preserved Romanesque church and the surrounding courtyard regularly host open-air concerts, theatre performances and cultural festivals. The site is managed by the Landkreis Gießen and also houses a popular beer garden.
