Ostseebad Ahrenshoop, Germany
The Kunstmuseum Ahrenshoop is a dedicated art museum on the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula, rooted in the tradition of the Ahrenshoop artists' colony that formed here in the late 19th century. Its collection focuses on landscape painting from that colony alongside contemporary art with regional ties. The building itself, opened in 2013, was designed by Volker Staab Architekten and is a striking piece of modern architecture set against the Baltic coastal landscape.
