About the venue

The Leibnizsaal is the main ceremonial hall of the Niedersächsischer Landtag (Lower Saxony State Parliament) in Hannover. Named after the philosopher and mathematician Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, who was born in Hannover, the hall hosts parliamentary receptions, state ceremonies and public events. The historic parliament building dates from the late 19th century and sits on Hinüberstraße in the city centre.
