The Lustgarten is a historic park directly in front of the Old Palace (Altes Palais) on the island of Potsdam's old town. Laid out in the 17th century as a pleasure garden for the Brandenburg electors, it later became a formal baroque ensemble. Today the open green space serves as a public gathering place and hosts open-air events, markets and cultural festivals.
