About the venue

Marienplatz is Munich's central square and has served as the city's main public gathering place since the 12th century. It is flanked by the Neo-Gothic Neues Rathaus, famous for its Glockenspiel, and the older Altes Rathaus. The square regularly hosts major public events, markets - including the traditional Christmas market - and celebrations.
