The Melatenfriedhof is one of Germany's most historically significant cemeteries, laid out in 1810 on the western edge of Cologne. Its tree-lined avenues and elaborate 19th-century tombs make it a destination in its own right - many prominent Cologne families, artists and politicians are buried here. This entrance on Piusstraße is one of the main access points to the grounds.
