About the venue
Mommsenstadion is a historic athletics and football stadium in the Charlottenburg district of Berlin, built in the 1920s. It serves as the home ground of tennis club BFC Preussen and has hosted amateur football as well as athletics events for decades. The stadium gained wider fame as a filming location for the 1981 cult film "Das Boot" director Wolfgang Petersen's earlier work, and more recently for scenes in various productions.
