About the venue

The Museum Ägyptischer Kunst in München is one of the most important collections of ancient Egyptian art in the German-speaking world. Its holdings span over 5,000 years - from prehistoric artefacts to Coptic works - and include sculptures, papyri, jewellery and everyday objects. Since 2013 the museum has been housed in a purpose-built underground space beneath the Kunstareal, designed by architect Peter Böhm.
